yours truly made the exodus to the kitsap peninsula to play Trophy Lake Golf Club. located an hour drive southwest of seattle, in the deep woods of port orchard.
pulling up into the club parking lot i was received by the usual suspects (casey and the sunshine band). everyone had their game faces on, as greenies danced between their ear lobes and an opportunity to make up for poor scores shot the week prior (i know i was...).
this course is one of three kitsap gems. mccormick woods and gold mountain being the others. it has all the services one expects in this price point. cart service, grass driving range, two large putting areas and all the tees you want (i'm not gonna front, i grabbed two handfuls).
ponce and i arrived at the range to see the fellas in quiet preparation. perhaps it was the early morning tee time? doubt it, we play early alls the time! this was serious. not even the usual banter was exchanged as i said hello...(gulp). Cats were focused.
i'm glad to note that the club has GPS on all their carts. certainly a welcomed service that helped us navigate through the woods. i wouldn't say however that it helped in our scoring achievement, rather helpful in getting messages to and from the clubhouse. ponce and i had a defected cart exchanged in the back, and frizz' cell phone was found.
as we meandered our way through the course the drama was unfolding at all the greenies. the first two were pushed. going into the second last greenie and barlow's group with no qualifying attempts, ponce hit a towering hybrid that rolled off onto the collar. then whitney hit his attempt and landed it pin high (the 2nd of a string of 4 pars in 5 holes on the back for the lefty). unfortunately, he was not playing greenies. PUSH!!!
this brings us to #17. the last greenie. for all the marbles. GPS reads, 143 front, 146 pin, 171 back. since barlow's group didn't hit the green, they watched eagerly as our group stepped up to the box. frizz went first. short! then whitney stepped up with a PW and hit a towering shot that landed on the green, left of pin high once again (the kid was working on a good back nina). no pressure, cuz lefty ain't in the game. still wide open for the taking, yours truly stepped up to the box. i was hella nervous. i can feel ponce's stare (gulp). i striped a PW at the hole landing my nike within 10 ft. above the pin (namsayin!). ponce steps to the tee and duffs his shot into the bushes. two putts later, the greenies were mine.
barlow still leads the way on the money list. checkalook the new leaderboard
look out kid, we rising and comin' for ya son!!!! -pos

Harbour Pointe Golf Club
on what possibly may be the last day of our heat wave, the fellas and i continued our oki golf experience at Harbour Pointe Golf Club. it has a nice clubhouse restaurant and a pro shop with the usual branded gear. they also have these cool dyson airblade hand dryer's in the restrooms (don't front, them thangs get your hands dry with the quickness).
if you want to get your warm-up on, they have two putting greens and a grass driving range (although on this morning, cats were hitting off mats...weak). aight, so WTF is it about these oki courses not having GPS in their carts? this sh*t drives me crazy! on a value golfer tip, this really sucks considering they gots plaques all up in the member's area stating the track is the "toughest golf course in puget sound". i would agree, so hook us up with some course assistance nah means?
Harbour Pointe is indeed a very challenging course. it is not a grip it and rip track, it requires precision shots. the park is riddled with hazards and cavernous ravines. bring plenty of ammo and tons of patience.
greenies were in full effect again. taking the loot this week was split between Barlow and Ponce. ranked 1 and 2 respectively, these sharpshooters are owning the par 3's this year. checkalook the updated leaderboard.
try to keep it in the short grass SON!

Newcastle G.C - China Creek
last weekend we explored the China Creek golf track at Newcastle Golf Club. this was our first time playing this course. it is a course that meanders up and down a hilltop, known for its outstanding views of downtown Seattle & Bellevue. its a very technical course that demands course management. did i mention there were million dollar homes along the fairway of some holes? particularly on hole 14, yours truly shanked a drive that made a loud "thud" on someone's roof top (wake-up eastside b*tches). after that, i have to admit, i was rattled for the rest of the hole.
i played in a group with ponce, frizz and max (aka DJ Headache). its been a while since i've played with the homie frizz, but i gotta say i didn't recognize the kid looking like an athletic director (i ain't hatin' on you son...you clean up pretty smooth). everyone was hyped to play this course, which i believe to be one of the best public golf clubs in the area, but the one thing that i was most disappointed about was that the carts didn't have GPS. now for the premium that we pay to play this course (a wash if you buy the Platinum Player's card) you gotta have satellite up in this joint. the course booklets they gave were pretty and all, but you gotta be an orienteering genius to understand the distances in the thing. if you have a sky caddie or bushnell rangefinder, bring it to this course, cuz you're gonna need it! the perception of many of these holes may seem longer or shorter to your eye. this will play jedi mind tricks on you.
overall, it was a good day. won a couple of greenies with barlow and frizz. check the leaderboard fellas. looks like ben is runnin' away with it this summer, but a darkhorse is rising. here comes tha Director!!!!

no greenies won on #9

tha Director puttin' on #9

jedi mind tricks in full effect! these cats look pissed!

American Century Championship in Tahoe (07-15-09)
Check out some pic's... All I really did was stalk Jordan around for 5 or 6 holes. Was nuts how many people were out there trying to get autographs and pictures with him. He even told people he wasn't signing anything today.
Penny was there too...
But everyone was looking for Jordan. On the flier and in the news he was suppose to tee off at Noon. But instead Tee'd off like at 10... Good thing we got there early.

Here is a pic of Bill Laimbeer and Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air putting around on the 7th hole.
Check out Joran's carry bag. He's got a staff bag that is pretty ill. His carry bag isn't bad.
Jordan was playing with Bettis, one of those cats from NBC golf and another old white dude who is probably rich as hell.
Peep out some Video...
Jordan with his wedge 100 yards out...
Jordan with his driver on a par 5
Bus with his driver on that same par 5

Tiger Woods Video I was talking about...
These were taken when I was in London at the HSBC World Matchplay in 2006.

Now him peeping out his second shot...

And finally the video...
I followed Tiger for most of the day... He ended up losing to Shaun Micheel.
The first video Tiger hit a stinger right in front of me, Nicole and my cousins. Listen for my boater cousin with his london accent and me yelling like a retard.
Here is this cat walking to his ball..
Now him peeping out his second shot...
here is what he's looking at...

Auburn: $105 Par 3 (Hole 16)
Here is some video of my groups attempts to win $105..... I hate golf right now... Just a heads up. Listen to the end of Casey's video... He hates it too. Casey was the closest one out of our crew... Redsox and Barlow hooked theirs in the water. I topped mine a inch past the ladies tee... then proceed to hit it fat into the lovely water. Great round fellas!

Listen for the laughing after the shot...... Punks (Casey)!

Review: Auburn Golf Course
this week the crew mobbed down to auburn golf course this course was renovated over the last couple of years with new tee boxes at #1 and #10 holes. they built a brand new club house with great outdoor seating overlooking the 9th and 18th greens. this place will even host your wedding if you lookin' to get hitched. this is a big come up from the shack on wheels for their old club house and the meal trucks in the parking lot when we last played this course. big ups to the city of auburn for putting some loot into this golf club.
the sun finally came out this week to greet pin hunters eager to get a shot at greenie loot. i know yours truly was on a mission to get rid of the goose egg next to his name and i'm glad to say that i am no longer a zero but far from a hero, since i went out like a punk on the 2nd greenie, missing a 2 foot par putt. beeaatttchhhh! (say it like Too $hort). anyways, the remaining greenies were all pushed when ponce put his attempt on the $105 final hole into the pond. refund fellas!!!
the course itself was in phenomenal shape. all the tee boxes were lush and level. the greens were very slow probably because of all the rain during the week. this course will challenge all skill levels but its fair if you choose the right club off each tee. my playing partner dixon hit driver on almost every par 4 & 5 and scored the lowest score this week with a +14 (85).
check out some of the video footage of our group's tee shots on #7. dixon, whitney and frizz's balls found the fairway and first cut. my ball ended up to the left of the cart path under the ONE and ONLY tree on that side. yo, who's got an AX? Timbuuurrrrr!!!
